Computer Training Centre & Digital Studio

Brief History

The YMCA Computer Training Centre has come a long way since it's inception in 1995. Thanks must be given to The British Volunteer organisation (VSO) who provided initial technical staff and five computers to start the centre.

However with the Gambia fast development in the ICT world, the centre now offers courses, after school programs for youths covering all aspects of ICT on a full - time basis and part - time basis for youths, employees of various organisation etc.

The centre continues to forge partnerships with numerous organisations to carry out advocacy programs on ICT centering on content generation, use of online platforms for collaborative projects and Internet Governance for Development. The centre also continues to champion ICT development in YMCAs within the West African region.

The centre carries out not only customised training, but is highly involved in research and various aspects of ICT development covering the following areas.
